Books2Door, a leading online book retailer known for its major discounts on books and box sets, has reported exceptional growth in its half-year results for the second quarter of fiscal year 2024. The company’s total sales reached a notable £2,718,892.56, marking a 38 per cent increase compared to the same period last year.

Specialising in making reading accessible, Books2Door offers up to 80 per cent off the recommended retail price on a wide range of books, including new bundles and box sets. Over the past three years, the company has also donated more than 40,000 books, supporting its mission to make literature accessible to children from all backgrounds and interests.

“2023 has been our strongest year to date, and we’re only halfway through.”

As part of its strategic expansion, Books2Door has welcomed 18 new team members since January 2024, filling key positions aimed at boosting its digital and creative output. The team’s growth includes a dedicated TikTok manager, Tindy Kaur, who will oversee the company’s burgeoning TikTok presence, which has garnered £401,144.59 in sales and 18,000 new followers since its launch in March 2023.

The role will also deliver content partnerships, following two successful collaborations with top BookTok influencers @emmilysorelle and @itsmadshope.

In response to the expanding team and operations, Books2Door has opened a new 20,035 sq ft office and warehouse on Craven Street in Leicester, UK. This new space not only accommodates the growing team but also includes a £30,000 investment in a TikTok Studio, strategically located outside of London.

The company’s commitment to diversity is demonstrated by its investment in over 100 titles from various publishers, including Islamic Books, SEN books from Every Cherry, and dyslexia-friendly books from Barrington Stoke.

Looking ahead, Books2Door is preparing for a busy fourth quarter, traditionally the bookseller’s peak season. Initiatives like the new ‘Schools on Tour’ project will bring specialist storytellers into primary classrooms, aligning with the government’s ‘Reading for Pleasure’ framework and fostering a love for reading among young students.

“2023 has been our strongest year to date, and we’re only halfway through. I would like to take this opportunity to thank my incredible team for their dedication and commitment, to which much of the company’s success can be credited. Bring on the next six months!” said Books2Door founder Thadha, reflecting on the company’s achievements and future prospects.
